Photos of SoftBank iPhone 3G
July 13th, 2008

Given that the iPhone 3G hysteria still seems to be raging, I thought I might post something a bit different today: a photo of a Japanese iPhone 3G running on SoftBank’s network in Japan. However, looking at our stats from the last few days (in which viewer numbers have been up around ten times, and transfer up significantly more) it seems that Japan is home to a pretty sizable number of readers (for those counting, they came in third place behind New Zealand and the United States). Unfortunately, I haven’t found a SoftBank with employees fluent in English, and my Japanese certainly isn’t good enough to try and work out whether the phone can be bought without a contract or unlocked, so I won’t be buying one while I’m here. Interestingly, the phone still has one bar of signal strength despite the fact it was taken well below the ground in an Osaka subway station store.
