Apple Expo 2008 Dates Announced
July 7th, 2008
Reed Expositions has announced that this year’s Apple Expo in Paris will take place between Wednesday September 17th and Saturday September 20th 2008 at Porte de Versailles, Hall 5. Though Apple has in previous years been an exhibitor and used the expo to announce new products such as the iMac G5, this year they will not be attending. According to a translation from French website Macgeneration, Apple France has stated that:
“Year after year, Apple reduced its participation in trade fairs, as there are often better ways to get in contact with our customers. The growing popularity of apple.com website allows us to directly reach more than a hundred millions of customers worldwide in innovative ways. ”
While Apple’s annual Macworld Expo and Worldwide Developers Conferences in San Francisco continue to attract record attendee numbers, Apple has reduced its presence at other expos in recent years which has led to the decline of IDG World Expo’s east coast Macworld New York/Boston, which was last held in 2004, and Macworld Tokyo, last held in 2002.
