nova media Introduces Mobile Internet Companion For MacBook Air
February 5th, 2008
Berlin - Feb. 04, 2008 — MacBook Air is ultrathin, ultraportable, and will be ultramobile with a little help from a software called launch2net. Using mobile internet connections offered by cell providers and a cell phone or USB modem, launch2net handles the setup as well as the connections to the Internet in no time at all.
“Wherever you are with your MacBook Air and your cell phone or USB modem, settings are already in place,” states Jan Fuellemann, PR spokesperson at nova media. “launch2net supports a total of 410 network settings in 157 countries worldwide and will work with many cell phones and USB modems currently available.”
The streamlined interface of launch2net offers a Connect/Disconnect button and includes information on signal strength, upload and download connection speeds and time online. All useful information when trying to gauge how much time or how much traffic spend online.
If the connection window on the Desktop is not wanted, the launch2net menubar offers connect and disconnect options and displays online status instead.
launch2net requires Mac OS X 10.4.3 or higher (10.5.1 or higher for Leopard) and a compatible mobile device. launch2net has a price tag of Euro 75,00 plus VAT (approximately $110 U.S.).
A demo version and a list of supported devices and cell providers is available at nova media’s website - http://www.novamedia.de.
